ABSTRACT

Teleconsultation is a type of medical practice similar to face-to-face consultations, and it allows a health professional to give a consultation remotely through information and communication technologies. In the context of the management of the coronavirus epidemic, the use of teleconsultation practices can facilitate healthcare access and limit the risk of avoidable propagation in medical cabinets. This paper presents the monitoring of international teleconsultation referrals in the era of Covid-19 to facilitate and prevent the suspension of access to care, the most common architecture for teleconsultation, communication technologies and protocols, vital body signals, video transmission, and the conduct of teleconsultation. The aim is to develop a teleconsultation platform to diagnose the patient in real time, transmit data from the remote location to the doctor, and provide a teleconsultation. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

ABSTRACT

As intelligent driving vehicles came out of concept into people’s life, the combination of safe driving and artificial intelligence becomes the new direction of future transportation development. Autonomous driving technology is developing based on control algorithms and model recognitions. In this paper, a cloud-based interconnected multi-sensor fusion autonomous vehicle system is proposed that uses deep learning (YOLOv4) and improved ORB algorithms to identify pedestrians, vehicles, and various traffic signs. A cloud-based interactive system is built to enable vehicle owners to master the situation of their vehicles at any time. In order to meet multiple application of automatic driving vehicles, the environment perception technology of multi-sensor fusion processing has broadened the uses of automatic driving vehicles by being equipped with automatic speech recognition (ASR), vehicle following mode and road patrol mode. These functions enable automatic driving to be used in applications such as agricultural irrigation, road firefighting and contactless delivery under new coronavirus outbreaks. Finally, using the embedded system equipment, an intelligent car was built for experimental verification, and the overall recognition accuracy of the system was over 96%. Author

ABSTRACT

Ubiquitous environments are not fixed in time. Entities are constantly evolving;they are dynamic. Ubiquitous applications therefore have a strong need to adapt during their execution and react to the context changes, and developing ubiquitous applications is still complex. The use of the separation of needs and model-driven engineering present the promising solutions adopted in this approach to resolve this complexity. The authors thought that the best way to improve efficiency was to make these models intelligent. That's why they decided to propose an architecture combining machine learning with the domain of modeling. In this article, a novel tool is proposed for the design of ubiquitous applications, associated with a graphical modeling editor with a drag-drop palette, which will allow to instantiate in a graphical way in order to obtain platform independent model, which will be transformed into platform specific model using Acceleo language. ABSTRACT

The adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized the way the health care industry works. IoT en-abled smart and connected solutions like smart sensors, wearable devices, and smart health monitoring systems are used to unleash the potential growth of the health care industry. IoT based health care solutions are on greater priority among IoT service providers since the disruptions caused by the COVID-19. According to experts, there still exist white spots in research studies on the Internet of Things (IoT) and health care Systems. The study conducted in this paper aims to explore emerging global research trends and topical focus in the field of IoT in health care System. Bibliometric analysis is used to analyze the research articles on 'Internet of Things' and 'Health care Systems' extracted from SCOPUS and WoS database using VoS Viewer tool;the analysis used to assess the growth and research trends of different research fields over a period of time. The parameters considered during analysis include year-wise citations, year-wise publications, keyword clustering analysis, author-wise analysis, country-wise research trends and publication trend over the years. The results showcased that there has been significant change in utilization of IoT in healthcare systems continuously during the period under study conducted. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Health care is always a top priority, and that has not changed no matter how far we have come in terms of technology. Since the coronavirus epidemic broke out, almost every country has made health care a top priority. Therefore, the best way to deal with the coronavirus pandemic and other urgent health problems is through the use of IoHT. The tremendous growth of IoT devices and networks especially in the healthcare domain generates massive amounts of data, necessitating careful authentication and security. Other domains include agriculture, smart homes, industry, etc. These massive data streams can be evaluated to determine undesirable patterns. It has the potential to reduce functional risks, avoid problems that are not visible, and eliminate system downtime. Past systematic and comprehensive reviews have significantly aided the field of cybersecurity. However, this research focuses on IoT issues relating to the medical or healthcare domain, using the systematic literature review method. The current literature in health care is not enough to analyze the anomaly of IoHT. This research has revealed that fact. In our subsequent work, we will discuss the architecture of IoHT and use AI techniques such as CNN and SVM to detect intrusions in IoHT. ABSTRACT

Social distancing requirements urged by the COVID-19 pandemic along with high transportation cost reduced inperson meetings significantly in recent times. In consequence, many people are seeking for virtual reality (VR) to feel a similar experiences of visiting and enjoying places that are unaccessible. VR has immense success in domains, such as automotive industry, healthcare, tourism, entertainment, sports etc. It is observed that traditional online synchronous and asynchronous class structure is not quite effective in engaging students in class participation and discussion. Therefore, we introduce a novel VRbased class structure that will simulate the classroom environment for students participating a class virtually. We equipped the classroom with several internet of things (IoT) devices that collects information from the classroom, analyze those information, and determine some interesting information to display for the students participating the class virtually. We design a classroom prototype and validate the prototype with simulation. The result of the simulation shows that such a VR-based classroom model is feasible and can introduce in classrooms. © 2023 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

Schools have become increasingly influenced by what has been called the Social Internet of Things (SIoT). As many schools transitioned to online teaching and learning in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is a need to analyze data on technology adoption in schools for changes and continuity since the inception of increasingly popular smartphones since 2007 that has affected videoconferencing, blended learning, and the flipped classroom concept. In this study, videoconference technology is the main factor analyzed in relation to IoT and schools in which handheld devices are considered gateways to further integration of schools into an IoT framework. The researchers analyze a selection of a 2009 dataset and a 2019 dataset from the National Center for Education Statistics (United States) to discuss teachers' perceptions of technology, especially the use of handheld devices and videoconference technology. Recommendations for educator preparation programs (EPPs) are made based on the discussion of the results of this analysis in context with the events of 2020 for why EPPs could emphasize flipped classroom design models within an SIoT framework. © 2023 IEEE.

Information and communication technology (ICT) advancements have an impact on many aspects of life and society, including the educational system. A key component of smart cities and the educational system alike, the IoT (Internet of Things) is becoming increasingly crucial. The COVID-19 epidemic, which began in March 2020, has accelerated educational reform and compelled institutions of higher learning to integrate ICT. Despite this, the Internet of Things (IoT) is still in its infancy in the education system, and its influence is still largely unknown. The research is an attempt to explore the potential of IoT in architectural education pedagogy which is primarily relying on creativity and innovation. Re-thinking about the student-centered pedagogies which acquires critical thinking skills, polite communication skills, conflict resolution skills, perspective taking skills, and adaptability towards global competence is the demand of the time which is the focus of the research. ABSTRACT

Federated Learning (FL) lately has shown much promise in improving the shared model and preserving data privacy. However, these existing methods are only of limited utility in the Internet of Things (IoT) scenarios, as they either heavily depend on high-quality labeled data or only perform well under idealized conditions, which typically cannot be found in practical applications. In this paper, we propose a novel federated unsupervised learning method for image classification without the use of any ground truth annotations. In IoT scenarios, a big challenge is that decentralized data among multiple clients is normally non-IID, leading to performance degradation. To address this issue, we further propose a dynamic update mechanism that can decide how to update the local model based on weights divergence. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms all baseline methods by large margins, including +6.67% on CIFAR-10, +5.15% on STL-10, and +8.44% on SVHN in terms of classification accuracy. In particular, we obtain promising results on Mini-ImageNet and COVID-19 datasets and outperform several federated unsupervised learning methods under non-IID settings. IEEE

ABSTRACT

In this paper, an overview of the smartphone measurement methods for Heart Rate (HR) and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is presented. HR and HRV are important vital signs to be evaluated and monitored especially in a sudden heart crisis and in the case of COVID-19. Unlike other specific medical devices, the smartphone can always be present with a person, and it is equipped with sensors that can be used to estimate or acquire such vital signs. Furthermore, their computation and connection capabilities make them suitable for Internet of Things applications. Although in the literature many interesting solutions for evaluating HR and HRV are proposed, often a lack in the analysis of the measurement uncertainty, the description of the measurement procedure for their validation, and the use of a common gold standard for testing all of them is highlighted. The lack of standardization in experimental protocol, processing methodology, and validation procedures, impacts the comparability of results and their general validity. To stimulate the research activities to fill this gap, the paper gives an analysis of the most recent literature together with a logical classification of the measurement methods by highlighting their main advantages and disadvantages from a metrological point of view together with the description of the measurement methods and instruments proposed by authors for their validation. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Internet of Things (IoT) and the internet have completely taken over today's world. All humans utilize the internet to fulfill basic needs. The network of actual items is known as the Internet of Things (IOT). Simply put, it refers to the process of keeping an eye on a physical machine or object. It can also refer to the interconnection of physical objects that have been implanted with electronics, sensors, software, and network connectivity. The foundation of our nation is agriculture. The main issue in agriculture is water scarcity. The water resource is not used in an effective manner, so the water is wasted. Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is witnessing a steady increase in adoption by infrastructure and process industries. Industrial equipment manufacturers are one of the key stakeholders in this digitalization journey. The adoption of IIoT by the equipment manufacturers has been slower due to various valid reasons. The present pandemic COVID-19 created disruption in the factory operations in many parts of the world. This consequence has been hard on the manufacturing industry including the equipment manufacturers, and many of their strategic projects are slowing down or derailed. In India, a strict lockdown of three weeks which was later extended for another seven weeks was by far the longest lockdown effecting the industry and the equipment manufacturers. ABSTRACT

This paper presents an IoT-based heart monitoring system using 8266 NodeMCU. According to the Malaysian Department of Statistics, ischemic heart disease is the leading cause of death, accounting for 15.0% of the 109,164 medically certified deaths in 2019. The coronary heart is a vital organ that pumps oxygen and blood across the body. Meanwhile, if the heart is not getting sufficient oxygen, the patient will experience chest pain, typically on the left side of the body, which can be mistaken for a heart problem. During the Covid-19 pandemic, a patient cannot attend regular treatment at the hospital as it is operating at full capacity. During this phase, the hospital can only focus on the critical and high-risk patient. The proposed heart monitoring system monitors the patient by measuring the heart rate and oxygen level in the comforts of home. Therefore, the patient can provide his current health record for the doctor's evaluation. The idea behind this proposed system is to construct an IOT-based system that automatically monitors the health condition in terms of heartbeat and oxygen detection. The prototype provides data to the Blynk for the patient and the I-Heart web-based application for the medical practitioner. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The danger of spreading the new variant of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) still exists. It takes a new habit to prevent it. The World Health Organization (WHO)urges to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 variant, including by getting used to washing hands regularly. To support this call, the researchers carried out various innovations. One of them is through the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology for routine hand washing. This research innovates by using an IoT tool that we named Amikom Purwokerto Hand Sanitizer (AMPUH). In addition to functioning as an automatic hand-washing device, this tool is also capable of recording temperature data, and the number of users, controlling hand sanitizer liquid and measuring saturation automatically. The recordings are stored through a data logger and processed through an IoT platform called ThingSpeak. ThingSpeak has the disadvantage of data visualization which is less attractive and informative. A website dashboard is needed to visualize the data contained on the ThingSpeak platform so that the display is more attractive and easier to understand. Therefore, this study aims to create a website dashboard that can provide information from the data stored on the ThingSpeak platform. The author focuses on the front-end by using the Vue.js framework. This framework has advantages such as being flexible (can be used in large-and small-scale websites), reducing repetitive code, and making the page display more dynamic. In building this front end, we apply the Extreme Programming development method. Based on the results of the study, showed that the implementation of the Vue.js framework on the AMPUH data logger front-end resulted in performance in accordance with expectations. The use of monitoring devices has found the importance of detecting the presence of the virus early. In order to expand the exciting monitoring system, every technocrat needed to come forward and donate his money to this. Authors as a responsible persons deemed it proper to work on the development design of multipurpose all in one reliable device to help the front like warriors in identifying persons with COVID-19 symptoms like temperature, heartbeat, humidity and positioning real time. After putting in an extra effort, author has succeeded in translating my idea into action. A device that is so well-designed and will increase the medical brotherhood effort to continue monitoring patient health parameters using a variety of sensors connected to the Arduino board. ABSTRACT

This paper presents a development of internet of things (IoT)-based indoor air quality monitoring system. The system is purposed to monitor quality of air in offices. It is to assure the health and safety of the working place which is especially being a big concern during the COVID-19 pandemic. Implementing the IoT concept allows to do monitoring from anywhere at anytime. A prototype of the monitoring system is built using three major components, such as an air quality sensor (BME680), a microcontroller (NodeMCU ESP-12), and an IoT cloud platform (ThingSpeak). The experimental test result shows that system was able to monitor the air temperature, air humidity, air pressure, IAQ (indoor air quality) index, carbon dioxide quantity, and VOC (volatile organic compound). These data is presented real-time in a web application and accessible from anywhere by using computers or smartphones. © 2022 IEEE.

Industry 4.0 influences automation, better logistics warehouse, smart manufacturing for larger productions, and supply chain management. Gamification is no longer a new topic where its framework and methodology got used for user engagement and motivation towards attitude change from repetitive activities. This paper aims to study Gamification's implementation to improve Industry 4.0 as more intelligent supply chain management needs emerge from its different departments as the current system lacks integration. Also, the supply chain industry has several monotonous tasks, and keeping employee motivated is the challenge. Industries are lagging in utilizing the gamification benefits to set up game-based engagement. In the continuously evolving market and competition, relevance is the key, which the study proposes with Gamification. With the emerging technology needs and urges of adaptability, that may lead to progressive growth and value to compete in the unceasing demands in the market. The author analyzes the annex of Gamification in supply chain management among the different aspects of Industry 4.0 to affect employee motivation in tedious work. Motivation drives human action, and different Gamification approach in literature has demonstrated the power to change the individual attitude. And the study analyzes the Gamification framework with Industry 4.0 technologies to support supply chain management to bring modernization.
